Altel Communications is a subsidiary of Altel Group Sdn Bhd (“AGSB”) and committed to upholding the highest level of integrity, transparency and good governance which is our core value and commitment to our business associates by establishing an environment free of bribery and corruption.

AGSB is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations of the countries in which it operates and to applying high standards of conduct and integrity in our business activities, whether in Malaysia or overseas. We are serious about building a culture of accountability, ensuring investor confidence, and maintaining good corporate governance. This has become more important than ever given the seriousness of the harm caused by bribery and corrupt practices and the emergence of anti-bribery and corruption legislation across the world.

Bribery and corruption are detrimental to business. It undermines the rule of law, tarnishes the government’s credibility, and curtails free and fair competition, affecting the economy at large. Our Malaysian law’s impose strict fines and imprisonment on the offender as well as, if it is a commercial organization. Its directors and persons related to its management of affairs. Failure to comply may also result in dismissal (if you are an employee), termination of contract, and claims for damages (if you are business partner), and AGSB may suffer business disruptions and financial and reputational loss.

The policy sets out AGSB’s approach to combating bribery and corruption, and where applicable, it should be read in conjunction with AGSB’s other policies and procedures. If there is any conflict or inconsistency, the stricter provision shall prevail.

Having a clear and unambiguous understanding of this policy is an important part of our risk management system, and we expect all of our officers, employees, and business partners to conduct themselves in accordance with this policy. Whistleblowing

Altel Communications is committed to conduct its business in accordance with the highest ethical standards and fostering an environment at work that values open and honest communication.

As a part of that commitment, the Whistleblowing Policy provides an avenue where Employees and the public can raise genuine concerns about a breach of a legal obligation, breach of a fiduciary duty, and a miscarriage of justice at the earliest opportunity without fear of victimisation, harassment, or discrimination, and that these concerns will be duly investigated.

All disclosures are protected with utmost confidentiality and the Whistleblower is assured of confidentiality of their identification and prohibition for retaliation by AGSB regardless of the outcome of any investigations.
